Thomas LaValley Memorial

Success Story

Thomas LaValley Memorial
A Shreveport Police Officer and friend to many, Thomas LaValley was killed in the line of duty on August 5, 2015. Only 29 years old he touched the hearts of many. A kind, genuine, and extremely loyal friend Thomas would eagerly help his family, friends, and even strangers. He is now resting eternally in his home of St. Amant, Ascension Parish, Louisiania. He will be dearly missed.

Thomas was my best friend. I wanted to share something with everyone to help us keep his memory alive. Not just for those who knew him well but to everyone. With the shirts and the public memorial that will go into place I feel we are doing just that.

Shortly after I had launched the fund I was contacted by someone within Bonfire. Bonfire seemed to take a special interest in making sure that our fund was being managed correctly. They made suggestions on the type of shirt and also made other options like hoodies, children's, and women's styles available. Everyone who has received a shirt or hoodie has said how good the quality of the shirts are. We are all very pleased and grateful to all share in something to help us remember our friend.

The overall process was very simple. Launching the fund and not having to worry about taking orders or delivering was huge. Only printing orders that have been placed is also very cost effective and maximized what we were able to raise. I definitely plan on using Bonfire again.

This fund has allowed us to be able to install a public memorial at Betty Virginia Park here in Shreveport, Louisiana, It will include a monument stone, bench, tree, and other landscaping. The fund did so well we are also able to provide Ms. Jackie, Thomas' mother, with a monument stone as well for her own garden.
