We've always been socially minded people and do our best to donate when we can, volunteer our time, and keep our prices manageable for as many customers as we can. But the truth is, we're too small with too tight of a budget to make the kind of impact we would really like to. And we believe that everyone deserves to eat food that is nutritious, healthy, and delicious. So that's where you come in!
We're selling shirts so that we can start a fund to reduce or cover the cost of our goods. We know that it's not easy to fit good food into the budget, and we want to try and make it easier. It's a great injustice that only those with means get to eat well. And, in order for us to grow the type of food we know is best for the environment and respectful of the livestock we raise- we can't just make things cheaper. For example, even just the feed we buy is 2 or 3X the amount of conventional, pesticide laden, commercially farmed GMO feed! With our young small farm, we want to build the kind of community where we help each other, and promote access and affordability of sustainable food.
For every t-shirt we sell, we will be able to provide about 1.5-2lbs of meat to someone for free, or double that amount for half price. So if we can even just hit the minimum, that's at least 75lbs of free meat, or significantly more at a reduced price!
The plan is-for every 50 shirts we sell, we can offer 4 families a monthly package containing a seasonal mix of chicken, pork, turkey, rabbit, and lamb over the course of 5 months at half price, or 2 families totally fee. We will open an application process, which will help us to provide the best products to those who need it the most. If you or someone you know might be interested, please have them contact us! We typically run these types of deliveries from spring-fall, which will give us plenty of time to administer the funds.
We all deserve to eat well. Buy a shirt. Support a small farm committed to growing food in a healthy, environmentally conscious way. "Meat" your community.
