Initiatives for the Development of Educational Advancement (IDEA) was established in June 2013 through the dream of a young man called Emmanuel Logan. The sole purpose/aim of Initiatives for the Development of Educational Advancement (IDEA) is to undertake educational and developmental projects in Western Africa. IDEA mission is to raise public awareness about educational initiatives and empower Students and teachers by enhancing their educational capacity, advocacy, goal’s orientations, providing educational materials, and advising policy makers on developmental project with the intent to advance student’s learning capacity in West Africa. IDEA goal is to enable students to fully achieve academic excellence by constructing Modern Libraries in West Africa for less fortunate students who are continuing their educational journey.  IDEA is an outgrowth organization of the “Each One Give One Book’’ Program. A program that collected used text books from students at the University of Rhode Island for schools in need, university students and kids in Liberia, West Africa for the last three years. Since its establishment, the organization has donated over 3,500 books in Liberia. These books were collected from various individuals and students from in and around Providence, Rhode Island. IDEA Works with less fortunate kids, and schools that are not in the capacity to provide libraries facilities to their students. IDEA is also involve in the donation of used clothes and shoes to less fortunate children in Liberia.
