Daniel Wittig was born on November 7th, 1976, to Herman and Betty Schulze Wittig of Boling, Texas. Daniel's mother passed away from Melanoma when he was just 8 years old. Daniel is married to Tiffany (Wilkerson) Wittig and they have three children; Jake (their Angel in Heaven, who would be 8 in April 2017), Bethani (6 years old), and Weston (3 years old). Daniel was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia on October 21st, 2014, shortly before his 38th birthday. This type of leukemia is not treated until symptoms and/or blood work is at a level that treatment is needed. Initially, Daniel was considered to be in watch and wait mode, needing no treatment. In March of 2015, Daniel noticed swelling in the lymph nodes around his neck. Daniel's doctor still wasn't concerned at this time, and he continued to be in watch and wait mode. In November 2015, Daniel began noticing his lymph nodes getting larger and larger. After multiple scans and the fact that Daniel's lymph nodes were now swollen all over his body, including his spleen, Daniel's doctor decided it was time for treatment. At this time, it was also discovered that Daniel has 2 life-threatening fungal infection in his lungs that need to be treated as well. Daniel started treatment for the fungal infections in his lungs in early January and will continue with treatments til they can get this under control. Over the last few months, Daniel has had a lot of tests ran, he has received numerous scans, and he has had multiple biopsies done to figure out the best course of action for treating his type of cancer. Daniel's cancer is resistant to routine chemo and radiation, so doctors had to find a different option to treat his cancer. Finally, Daniel was approved for a trial treatment and has started this treatment on March 21st, 2016. Therefore, Daniel and Tiffany have endured many unexpected medical costs. As you can imagine, this is causing a lot of stress on Daniel and his family when all they should be worried about right now is Daniel's health. At this time, we, Daniel’s extended family, are asking for help with Daniel’s medical bills that have been piling up as well as the ones he has yet to incur. We hope that by doing this, we can ease the monetary stress that this family is under so they can focus of Daniel getting better and defeating his cancer. Thank you in advance and God bless!
