On July 14th, 2013 Greg experienced a loss of balance while at home. At first he didn't think much of it. A fellow police officer who was also a paramedic stopped by. Fortunately she convinced him it was best if he went to get checked out. That night in the United Hospital Emergency Room led to follow up visits to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Greg and his family learned that he had two inoperable tumors (Grade 4 Glioblastoma) in his brain. Greg continues his battle with chemo and radiation therapies. The future of his health is uncertain at this time.
Greg is a St. Paul native and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1979. He and his wife Lisa were married in 1985 and have two children Jessica 21 and Joe 19. For the past 25 years Greg has been with the Cottage Grove Police Department. He has served many roles in that time including his current role as a Sergeant in the patrol division. Greg and his family have been long time members of Crossroads Church in Woodbury.
Greg and Lisa have dedicated their lives for Jessica and Joe. Whether they were traveling the state for sporting events or taking hunting and fishing trips, it has always been about family.
