Our 2 year old daughter, Maggie, suffered a brain injury during birth due to a lack of oxygen, also known as Hypoxic-ischemic Encepalopathy. Because of HIE, she has Cerebral Palsy, along with many other diagnoses. Cerebral Palsy affects the human muscle, making it difficult for her to do the things we often take for granted such as: swallow, eat, talk, breathe, move, walk, crawl, grasp, see, touch, hear...etc...Maggie eats via feeding tube and breathe via tracheostomy tube.
But there is hope. There might be a possible cure. Please help us raise the funds needed for Maggie's first round of Stem Cell Therapy. Stem Cell Therapy is a promising treatment where injected "T" cells derived from donated umbilical cord blood, to "find" damaged cells and help repair it. The closest stem cell therapy center is in Panama City, Panama. The cost for each treatment: $15,250.00. We are hoping to raise this money by the end of 2013, before her third birthday. Thank you for your help and God bless.
